-If your neighbor is a lunatic, I’ve probably dated him.
-If you think your adult child is a challenge, you haven’t met my kid.
-If you often find yourself soaking in the bathtub, fantasizing about being carried away by an Australian fireman (or in my case, any man who’s not a serial killer) and drinking wine straight from the bottle, well then, welcome to my blog sister!
I’m Tamara, a near 50-year-old, single woman dealing with dating, the ups and downs of life, starting a new career, tackling body image and weight loss, fawning over a guy (or two), all the while living with a small judge-y dog.
As a former news reporter and current freelance writer, I have always seen things in a different light. From my battle with the BRCA2 gene and undergoing a double mastectomy to dealing with the challenges of being a single parent raising a millennial child, I take it all in with humor, humility, and a lot of begging God to get me through it.
I’m far from being an expert at life, and I have a lot more questions than answers, but my aim with this blog is to cover a variety of different topics. When the day is done, we are all in this together and knowing that someone has gone through, or is going through, similar struggles brings a sense of peace to ones’ heart and mind.
So, thanks for swinging by to peek at my blog. I hope you get a laugh or two from it and pass it on to your girlfriends, family, co-workers, etc. I encourage feedback and comments! If there is a particular topic you’d like me to write about, let me know!
